As a kid growing up in eastern Ontario, two things were certain:  I would play hockey in the winter and golf in the summer.

My parents, along with my friends’ family would take east and west along the 401 so I could be competing constantly in junior golf competitions.  It was the best!  While competing in the Junior St. Lawrence Tour, a consistent stop was Loyalist Golf & CC, just west of Kingston.  It was a privilege to play this course, as it had a great layout and was always in tremendous shape.

This still holds true today.  It has a great open layout off the tee and large greens, a friendly course of sorts that presents a links style of golf course.  The course allows for aggressive lines off the tee, but the greens are typically quick so a delicate touch is needed.

The friendly staff at Loyalist offer great customer service, and if you’re lucky enough, you might receive a few pointers from their outstanding professional staff.  In the local area, Loyalist is located just 3 minutes from MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Company, which is a great place to have their refreshing 8 man English Pale Ale and to start the afternoon off right in Kingston.
